Synopsis

When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a beast-like creature arrives to demand retribution for it. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she only knows about from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not an animal, but Tamlin—one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled their world.

As she dwells on his estate, her feelings for Tamlin transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie and warning she’s been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But an ancient, wicked shadow grows over the faerie lands, and Feyre must find a way to stop it . . . or doom Tamlin—and his world—forever.

Perfect for fans of Kristin Cashore and George R. R. Martin, this first book in a sexy and action-packed new series is impossible to put down!

“Rhysand stared at me for long enough that I faced him.
“Be glad of your human heart, Feyre. Pity those who don’t feel anything at all.”

After reading ACOMAF and seeing Beauty and the Beast teaser from Disney yesterday, I just couldn’t resist to return to this review and edit something. When I first read ACOTAR, I felt like I was back when I was twelve and my mom opened Beauty and the Beast video. What a sweet movie ! I loved everything and wanted to live in fairy tales since then. Call me stupid because I love the world where birds can sing, flowers have faces and animals can talk to me. My home is at Disneyland, do you know, and this is the reason why I enjoyed this book so much it hurt.

“I threw myself into that fire, threw myself into it, into him, and let myself burn.”

Tamlin is the beast. He’s handsome, charming, smart and mysterious. When Feyre kills a wolf, then she has to be with Tamlin, no matter what, I felt like this is a beautiful story I’m asking for from Sarah J Maas. Anyways, I’m not a fan of ToG. It’s boring, angsty and not as good as they hype. Frankly, I wanted to die eveytime I read those books, it killed me slowly from the inside. Omg ! Did I just say that ? Lol

ACOTAR is better than ToG in every single way. The story is engaging from the beginning. Slow but kept my interest all the time. This book’s plot is big and virile. The romance is kinda slow burn, but interesting. Tamlin and the Spring Court is spectacular. I love the world-building and how magic works. So 4 stars for a storing heroine and a laconic hero.

“I love you,” I said, and stabbed him.”

P.s. After finishing ACOMAF, I think I just can’t reread this book again. Too much pain.
